columns and vcolumns

Some output screens now output in columns. To enable that use <set columns>
These screens can output columns vertically or horizontally, e.g.
a b c
d e f
vs
a c e
b d f
To toggle this behavior use <set vcolumns on|off>

E.g. <set columns 2> and <set vcolumns on> will enable most compact display of <feats> command.

Critical Hit/Damage Changes

  1. Lethal Strikes now doubles the threat range of any weapon(s) you are using regardless of size. It also works while shape-shifted and while using unarmed combat. It no longer provides an additional critical damage multiplier.

  2. Exploit Weakness and Weapon Mastery now work with Lethal Strikes, as the feats do different things. Exploit Weakness DOES NOT stack with Weapon Mastery.

  3. The only races that get a critical damage modifier now are oozes (not squole) and elementals.

Further Critical Changes

Found an old bug where critical hits were not adding to already calculated damage (meaning a crit on a x2 weapon was basically a normal hit). You should get more mileage on your crits now (and monsters should get more mileage on theirs).

Discern and Large/Normal Creatures

99.99% of our weapons did the same amount of damage to large and normal creatures anyway, but I've gone ahead and removed the part of combat_d.c that even look at damage to large creatures. All weapons will do the same damage to creatures regardless of size.

I have updated the discern command to no longer print how much damage a weapon will do to large creatures.

Weapons themselves still have large_wc values, but they no longer do anything.

Avoidance Messages

All avoidance messages (parry, scramble, etc) should now appear in bold white. Might be useful to help sort out combat spam.

Bug tracker had been integrated with the game.

Whatever you report in game will appear in https://shadowgate.org/git/shadowgate/shadowgate/issues
Alternatively, you can just use bugtracker and report issues directly.
Bugtracker allows you to discuss and re-poke old bugs.

To log in into gitea use your username in lower case and password, as usual.
