Summon natures ally N and monster summoning N

Post by ilmarinen » 01 Dec 2019, 17:14

Both spell family recieved name change (arabic numerals to roman). Adjust your aliases.
Mage spellbooks should have been auto updated.

Reason behind this change is the way we treat trailing number: it usually targets Nth item among that have the same id.
So druidic scroll of summon natures ally 6 can't be targeted by the spell name.
It should cause minor ussues only in your aliases.
But as always, use <game bug> if something is wrong.

Classes that have these spells mastered should have them freed from mastered list, and they need to re-master them, if
they so wish.

From player request, you can now 'say' things twice in a row without a complaint. Example, 'say yes' and then 'say yes' will be performed as expected.

hit die doubling

Post by ilmarinen » 03 Dec 2019, 17:51

OP situation going on with some hit dies on some classes have been resolved, I think.
Check your score, mastered spells and spell slots on arcane archers (if they have been created in oct-nov of 2019), arcane tricksters and rage prophets.

Invisibility

Post by ilmarinen » 03 Dec 2019, 19:30

Invisibility will allow you to attack ignoring opponent's dex bonus to ac if your opponent is not detecting invisibility. In addiction it will grant you +2 on attack rolls.

Blinding stuff.

Post by ilmarinen » 03 Dec 2019, 19:54

Being blind will revoke your dex ac bonus unless you have a blind fight.
Being blind will always cause a penalty of lvl/12+1 to your ac

Language points change

Post by ilmarinen » 06 Dec 2019, 23:26

Language system had been slightly adjusted. You get a point per 18 hours of gameplay now per int bonus but no less than 1 now, plus point for each of IC year your character lived since you've created them.
Some old and smart characters will amass huge amounts of language points, and this is fine. Int restriction on maximum known languages still active.

Mage forms spoken language

Post by ilmarinen » 06 Dec 2019, 23:29

Mage forms will now have the same base languages as the mage itself. Being a dragon no longer locks you speaking in draconic.

The same goes for vampire bat and wolf forms. These still are just flavour forms barely useful even in mid level range.

Passive Perception

Post by uriel » 08 Dec 2019, 06:45

So based on a suggestion from Gaius in the ideas forum, I implemented a passive perception roll. So every 2 rounds or so, there is a skill check between the player and the hidden/invisible creatures.

The skill test is the player's Perception + 1d20 vs Stealth + 1d20 for hidden creatures.

The skill test is the player's Perception + 1d20 vs Spellcraft + 1d20 for magically invisible creatures.

And for Hidden & Magically invisible creatures the Perception +1d20 must be higher than Stealth+1d20 and the Spellcraft+1d20 rolls [those are two tests, not commulative]. So there is a potential benefit to hiding while magically invisible.

If the perception check is successful, the player receives a message that there skin is crawling as you sense the presence of hidden or invisible lurking creatures. Now the player still has to search or cast detect invisible to find them!

Give it a try ! Happy to make any changes the group would like. Enjoy!

Best,
Uriel

Re: Global changelog

Spot feat had been added, which behaves inbetween spot skillset and alertness feat from base game and pathfinder's spot feat.

Without spot feat you can't detect invisible creatures with passive detection. Even with spot feat you get a huge penalty on detection of inivisble.
Without that feat you incur a huge penalty on passive detection.

In addition that:
Passive perception had been made entirely deterministic. I.e. you either can or can not detect hiding creatures.
<search> had been made entirely deterministic. I.e. you can no longer spam it.

No change is set in stone. Anything can be discussed.
Happy hiding to everyone.

Assassin guild can be accessed through exploring shadow docks.
There is a public reception area there where you can post bounties on write-only board.
Only assassins can read these.
