shadow spells change

chadow spells will have saves reduced to their level * 10 percent
e.g. spectres will cause all spells to be cast at 90% saves
shadow necromancy will cause all spells to be cast at 40%

Domination will provoke an attack if the victim resists.

Mind control spells are aggressive. If there are any mind control spells that do not start combat on failure, please bug report!

Sleep spell

Sleep spell is an aggressive spell and will start a fight on failure. Also victims waking up will start a fight if the caster is still in the room.

Casters can put (character level/2) hit dice to sleep, with a floor of 8 HD. That's generous compared to SRD, which is 4 HD.

The duration is 1d6 + (Character level/10) rounds. The max sleep will last is 15 rounds. That should be long enough for our Vampires and PKers, but not so long as to bore any unfortunate victim's players.

Some creatures are immune to mind control and cannot be put to sleep. Likewise elves, drow, half-elves, and half-drow and others are immune to sleep spells.

magic school selection changes

From now on to select a school you must have magic school feat.
To obtain this feat archmages and mages can use <feat fix>.
That includes sorcerer archmages.

Further, you can use <magic_school> command to begin selection process.
If you won't do that, your school will remain 'universalist'. Note that most of archmage's
powers come from specialization so you might want not to choose that prestige class if you
wish to remain universalist.

Your school, like before, will be reset on <abandon>. However, all characters from
previvous system get a chance to choose their school anew or remain universalists.

WEEKEND UPDATE THREAD FOR LICHES:

Chronicler upgrade:
-L1 fated is removed, replaced with remember the future for less stab-bait. Please <feats fix> if it does not automatically allocate.
-L4 timeweaver has gained additional spells (now 1 per bard level, as equivalent to other caster prestige classes)
-L7 temporal displacement is currently unchanged, looks ok on paper at least but please send feedback if there are any issues.
-summary: this prestige class should be less crappy. the end.

Druid melee rework:
-savage instincts iii now removed; should automatically refund if you bought it. Caps on specials have been adjusted between i & ii, and applied to ALL shapeshifted attacks now. If you are using druid melee forms & do not have these feats you will notice a considerable downgrade. Obviously still remains in all cases that more druid class levels = more effective shapeshift abilities.
-higher four unarmed combat feats are now unlocked from unarmed combat/spinning kick base pair; per tabletop sources these should be available to natural weapons as well. Shapeshifters can now opt into rapid strikes and upwards if desired without the first two irrelevant feats. Still requires str/dex requisite same as unarmed combat feat.
-summary: if you are druid & don't build druid melee feats, you will be less good at melee in shapeshift. If you are druid melee you have more feat options now. If you are non-druid shapeshifter (some mage spells, were-things, etc) there are still some new melee options for you, but intentionally not as many options as druid/monk for unarmed.

General quality of life:
-talking shapechangers (eg/ mage spells, werethings) should be able to whisper/change languages while in shapeshift now. I think. Probably. Usual rules apply still to non-talking shapechangers (eg/ animals).
-con now accepts new argument <con party> for any party members present in same room.
-arkhon's loot has been unbound from the present participants (if you've done the quest, you can now use any copy of his items). Have fixed/upgraded most weapons as well where appropriate; note some may have different proficiencies/discerns/etc as appropriate to their weapon-type. Lance (and two other inactive weapons) may yet be subject to future changes, remainder are now done. Most should self update, but please retrieve new copies of specifically the dagger or bow if you want all the new benefits.

woodworker item: scroll case

woodworkers can now craft scroll/parchment/paper cases out of wood
These cases are slightly lighter, but have slightly decreased capacity.
